FINCH E RYTHROPOIESIS IS BELIEVED to he regulated by a humoral substamice, erythropoietin, which is elaborated in response to tissue need for oxygen. The presence of erythropoietin in the normal individual has been difficult to demonstrate due to limitations in methods currently available for its measurement. The purpose of this study is to report the details of a bioassay method and quantitation of erythropoietin excretion in urine collections from normal males.
